| 説明 | The Colleoni Chapel was commissioned in the 15th century by Bartolomeo Colleoni as his own mausoleum attached to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.The Colleoni family's coat of arms includes a pair of testicles (deriving from coglioni meaning testicles). Their existence originated from a 12th century ancestor of Bartolomeo, Ghisalberto, who was nicknamed Colione, for being a prominent, capable and intelligent person—in short, a person "with attributes". |
