| 説明 | Me'arat HaMachpela, Translates "Cave of the Double Tombs"According to the Book of Genesis, Abraham purchased the site as a family burial . He paid for the cave 400 silver shekels. Not a bad deal for what was supposed to be the only entrance to "the lost paradise" beneath the face of the earth. The site is the burial place of four biblical couples: Adam and Eve; Abraham and Sarah; Isaac and Rebekah; Jacob and Leah. It also contains the head of Esau, and is probably also the tomb of Joseph. |
