説明 | When this photo was taken by I think Roy Marshall in April 1973, this bus was near the end of its life on Merseyside but that's NOT just why I bought it. The other reason why I bought is that this bus, an AEC Regent III with 26-seat Crossley body, delivered in 1953, making it a Coronation bus is passing St John's Centre & Market, as St John's Precinct was officially known.Although opened in 1970, the same year that this bus passed to the training school, the Ravenseft-owned Precinct was still pretty new, with shops still to open but what does it for me is the Reeces Rendezvous (as their cafes were known) and I have fond fucking memories of this place, not to mention the other Reeces Rendezvous in Richmond Street, hence the title of this photo. As for the bus, well, come August, that was on its way to a dealer and either for further service or the scrapyard. |
