| 説明 | Lameroo Silo Art. The Lameroo silo art was only completed in May of 2024. Sam Bates or Smug is a Glasgow born artist who has painted a number of silos in Victoria and South Australia including the outstanding Wirrabara silo art. He is known for his super fine detail on portraits and the Lameroo Silo Art typifies this. The detail of an early farmer has been described as Lameroo’s masterpiece. You decide for yourself. The four Viterra silos show a rural landscape, sheep, windmill and homestead. The atmospheric sky makes for impressive silo art. Lameroo has an excellent little museum at 45 Chandos Terrace beside the arts and crafts shop. The museum includes a replica of an early hall, a Lutheran Chapel, a Post Office, a Bank, shops as well as displays showing the blacksmith and farming heritage of the district. The museum building was built in 1911. |
