| 説明 | Private Thomas Lionel Moles, son of Louisa Mudford (neé Moles) of West Chinnock, Crewkerne, Somerset and the late John Moles, was shot at dawn by his own side for desertion. Usually men - boys sometimes - were shot for "cowardice" (shellshock and combat fatigue) or "poor discipline" (falling asleep on duty after being awake for several days). These executions were crimes against humanity; yet only in 2006 did the UK government abruptly and without giving plausible reasons do a volte-face on this subject and pardon them all.
