| 説明 | Southampton 25 November 2023.South Western House, across the road from the Eastern Docks. Adjacent to the former Southampton Terminus railway station, to which it was directly linked, this was opened as the Imperial Hotel and dates from 1865-1867. After war use from 1942 onwards, it had multiple functions before the BBC made it a centre for local radio and television news in 1961. When the BBC moved to a new building in 1991 there were a number of proposals for re-use and by 1998 it was being converted mainly to flats and apartments. It was Grade II Listed in 1980. |
