| 説明 | MOC (Not a set)Additional photos HERE!I always liked the Elves sets, but I have never been a fan of the minidolls. For a while I've wanted to do a revamp of one of the sets.I settled on Starlight Inn (41174,) because I felt like it had a lot of potential and because I didn't want to try tackling any of the full sized dragons. I tried to keep it true to the original set while upgrading and incorporating some of my own ideas. It still has the same building, the cellar entrance, and the firewood. The interior layout is extremely similar and the designs for the table and chairs are heavily inspired off of the original set. However, clearly it is larger, more detailed, and includes almost the whole cast of Elves characters, this time in minifigure form. I had a lot of fun redesigning the characters as minifigures and I'm fairly happy with how they turned out.I struggled with how to present the build. I originally was looking at trying to replicate the original box art, but this much larger version has so much going on that the original box art was going to be too visually distracting when paired with this build. I decided to go for the +18 box art design and I really like how it turned out. I had so much fun working on it that instead of just doing one image of the front I decided to do the full 3D angled box and do both the front and back.Let me know what you think, and I hope you like it. |
