| 説明 | The poorer parts of town are the most susceptible to fires. In Bibere a month ago there was a fire that burnt down about a hundred or so homes. With a local NGO we provided plastic, sheeting, cooking sets, blankets and wooden trusses. With our new Emergency officer Guillaume we had a chat with the locals. They told us that they had sold all but the wooden trusses to buy clothes. One woman thanked us and showed off the dress she had bought with the goods she had sold. Guillaume and my conclusion was that we had unthinkingly copied an approach successfully used for the displaced in rural areas to an urban setting. If we want to do more work in town centres we will need to modify our approach. |
