| 説明 | The second of Joseph M Gleeson's Jungle Book plates for Outing Magazine, found at the Internet Archive. In the top and right margins we see Bagheera the black panther lying on a branch and Baloo the bear sitting at the base of the tree. The young Mowgli makes his way along a branch toward Bagheera, who calls "Come along, Little Brother".In the main image, the evil tiger Shere Khan and his crony Tabaqui the jackal, watch Mowgli riding upon Baloo's back, as the bear runs through the jungle accompanied by Bagheera and Mowgli's four wolf-brothers. Garlanded with flowers to mask his scent, the man-cub waves tauntingly at the tiger. At bottom left a pair of cobras observe the proceedings, while at bottom right Gleeson has designed a logo for Mowgli. |
