| 説明 | A inside the ruins of the St. Paul's church atop Bukit Melaka (previously St. Paul's Hill) in the historic district of the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Malacca/ Melaka. Note the old grave stones stood up against the walls of the fort in the background.These grave stones were probably once laid into the floor of the church, but the floor has now been paved with regular floor tiles. (a wise/ diplomatic move, considering the large number of visiting European tourists?). Built by a Portuguese captain, Duarte Coelho, St. Paul's church is considered the oldest Catholic church in Malaysia, though not much of it remains though, as you can see here.(Malacca/ Melaka, Malaysia, Sept. 2023) (NOTE: Apologies for the small image size- thanks to the harsh sunlight, I did not realize that the LIVE mode has got activated on my iPhone.
