| 説明 | The Stadthuys museum on Dutch Square in the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Malacca/ Melaka in Malaysia. I visited the museum the following day- pictures say later in this album. (see subsequent images). But some information about the museum in the meantime: the iconic Stadthuys is one of the many legacies that were left behind by the erstwhile Dutch administration in Malacca/ Melaka. Stadthuys is one of the most important historical sites in Malacca/ Melaka. The name Stadthuys is a Dutch word that translates to city hall. Stadthuys is situated right beside Christ Church Melaka. Spanning over 49,200 square feet, the iconic red building was solidly designed with thick walls, shutter windows and thick old doors with iron hinges. (Malacca/ Melaka, Malaysia, Sept. 2023) |
