| 説明 | A statue of St. Francis Xavier outside the ruins of the Church of St. Paul on Bukit Melaka (previously St. Paul's Hill) in the historic quarter of the UNESCO World Heritage town of Malacca/ Melaka. The church is renowned as the place where the body of St Francis Xavier was buried for some time before being transported to Goa in India. To honour the saint, this white statue of him was put up at the entrance to the church. As you walk further into the church, one can spot the open grave of St Francis Xavier, which is now barricaded with a metal cage. Surrounding the church interior walls are several Dutch tombstones, which visitors can also freely view.
