| 説明 | Although some distance away from the sea, and even from the Malacca/ Melaka river, I was quite thrilled to spot this plinthed Royal Malaysian Navy frigate behind the Royal Malaysian Navy Museum, located in the Dutch Square heritage district in the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Malacca/ Melaka. And the icing on the cake was, one could climb up to the deck of the disused ship and snoop around a bit- how long ago was it since I visited the deck of a ship? But horror upon horrors, sadly, as with most of the other important tourist attractions in Malacca/ Melaka at the time, access to the disused ship was off limits as it was closed for renovation! Oh damn! So thus ended my visit to the Royal Malaysian Navy Museum- sadly on a not too pleasant note. The Royal Malaysian Navy Museum (Muzium Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia in the local vernacular- Malay) exhibits items used by the Royal Malaysian Navy. These include photos, equipment and instruments used by the navy, medals of honor, information about the various ranks in the naval command, evolution of naval uniforms, several naval weapons, communication devices, navigational aids and details of naval training programs.
