| 説明 | Another selfie- this time inside Christ Church Melaka- the very symbol of Malacca/ Melaka. Located on Jalan Gareja or Church Street, the Christ Church Malacca is an 18th-century Anglican church. One of Melaka's true cultural icons, the red coloured (initially white) Christ Church Melaka is the oldest functioning Protestant church in Malaysia. Despite it's historical origins, the church is still functional and is very much in use. You enter Christ Church Malaka through a side door- the main door is kept closed. The church has a Bible with a cover made out of brass, featuring an engraving of the Dutch version of St. John- I could not see it of course, as the sanctum sanctorum of the church was off limits. Two Sunday services are held in Christ Church, Malaka, one in English at 08:30 and another in Mandarin at 10:30. More notes about Christ Church Melaka appear elsewhere in this album.
