| 説明 | Menara Taming Sari pic. 8 of 13: I am in the observation gondola of the Menara Taming Sari observation tower in the UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Malacca/ Melaka in Malaysia. Rising up, we will eventually reach a maximum height of 110 mtr. The gondola revolves around it's own axis while going up- it has not turned to give this fabulous sea view. Malacca/ Melaka was once a major trading post with Dutch, Portuguese, Arab, Chinese, Indian, Siamese and British traders, so imagine how many international ships would have approached on this very sea! The Straits Mosque is somewhere along the shore line as well, but it's not visible here, and at any rate, like most other important Malacca/ Melaks sights, it too was reportedly closed for renovation at the time of my visit.
