| 説明 | Now this animal really excited me! A Mandrill emerges from under a log in his enclosure in the Malacca/ Melaka zoo. I have always been fascinated by the bright blue snout of the Mandrill (only the males have this) and although I have seen this animal in photographs, this is the first time I'm seeing one in the flesh. The Mandrill is a large Old World monkey native to west central Africa. It is one of the most colorful mammals in the world, with red and blue skin on its face and posterior. The species is sexually dimorphic, as males have a larger body, longer canine teeth and brighter coloring. Notes about the Malacca/ Melaka zoo appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures).
