| 説明 | This black and white Tegu lizard just outside the reptilarium in the Malacca/ Melaka zoo puts up a threat display. Tegus generally occur in rain forests, deciduous semi-arid thorn forests, savannas, fields and grasslands. They have also adapted to open areas created by agriculture, parks and construction zones. Tegu lizards spend much of their time in burrows. As omnivores, Tegus feed on various foods including fruits, insects, frogs, small rodents, birds, eggs and carrion. Tegus living near human settlements sometimes raid chicken coops for eggs and baby chicks, or to scavenge for leftovers from human food such as crackers, cheese and chips.
