Myself and some friends visited a rocky, wooded hillside in Oklahoma. Near the top of the hill and below the bluffline, we walked along the talus and on the rocks we located 9 diamondbacks, 2 juveniles and 7 adults. The biggest was over 5 feet long. All of the snakes were in partial sun and shade, near their respective hibernacula. This juvie was between two large boulders tightly coiled and asleep. I scooped it out with the snake hook and photographed it, then released it where it was found.Oklahoma |
