| 説明 | Built in the 19th Century to mill flour, these windmills were constructed by the population of the town of Parikia on Paros in a fashion similar to that on other Greek Islands in the Cyclades. The windmills feature a cylindrical exterior coated with limewash, a conical roof, and wooden and fabric blades. Today, several windmills still stand around the edges of the town of Parikia, including one at the port and two at the southwest corner of town, a reminder of the town’s past and rich history. |
