| 説明 | Established in the 700s BC, this cemetery remained in use through the Roman period in the 200s AD, when it was abandoned. The cemetery was long buried, but was uncovered during a construction project along the Parikia Harbor in the 20th Century. Today, the cemetery, which has been excavated by archaeologists, is easily visible to passers by and tourists, a reminder of the ancient roots of the town of Parikia, the largest settlement on the island of Paros. |
