| 説明 | I have kept hens for eggs for 18 years.Always ISA Brown Hybrids.Chickens were domesticated about 10 000 years ago - from the Red junglefowl (Gallus gallus) and there are now far more chickens in the world than any other bird. Over the course of a year, 75 billion chickens are reared (10 chickens per human) for eggs and meat. Despite this human-sustaining role and the resultant long-term selection processes that have been applied to domesticate them to maximum egg production (or meat for other breeds/hybrids), it always amazes me how hens have a wild side to them - how they pounce on invertebrates, how they establish flock social dynamics, the way they react to a magpie or a dog they dont know.Years ago, I used to take photos of my hens regularly but havent really done so in recent years - but they do make great subjects to follow with a camera. For the 124 pictures in 2024 group: number 107.
