| 説明 | Built in 1923, this Romanesque Revival-style building was designed by Ronald Greene to serve as the Jefferson Apartments. The building features a red brick exterior with four-over-four, six-over-six, and eight-over-eight double-hung windows, arched transoms at the ground floor and central bays of the upper floors, quoins, decorative machicolations at the top of the parapets, red tile hipped awning roofs with bracketed eaves, engaged doric columns, solariums with french doors and metal railings at the east and west facades, and a courtyard at the center of the building with a three-story gallery-style porch with roman arched openings between brick piers. The building is a contributing structure in the Chestnut Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and remains in use as an apartment building. |
