説明Fruit flyHow do you like the pattern on the wings of this small fly Fred photographed while it was sitting on a fig leaf. The plant had an infestation of wax scale. Tribe Tephritini. A member of Family Tephritidae - Fruit Flies Tony D."https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/191233844""TephritiniTribe Tephritinia member of Family TephritidaeFruit FliesBy scutellar, fronto- and orbital bristle pair numbers appears related to Austrotephritis and Tephritis, the later more so by the apical fork in the stellate pattern but the large anterior blotch extension of the stellate pattern is not shown in any of the described Australian species of either genus. As a side note, quite remarkable how the pattern looks wasp/ant-like!"Update: 18 Nov 2023 Name Tephritis prolixa with a synonym "Paraactinoptera prolixa (Hardy & Drew, 1996)" inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/191233844#activity_id... Update: 12 Dec 2023 On 5 December 2023 We sent an image to MyPestReporter DPIRD to notify them of its presence. On 6 Dec we received a call from DPIRD asking if I could hide the images online until the fly was checked to see it wasn't a new introduced introduced fruitfly which could harm our fruit industry.I removed the fly and comments from iNat that day.The following day we received the following info from DPIRD"Thank you for your fly report and for taking time to try to catch the specimen. After a thorough examination of the literature we can confirm that your specimen is likely, Paraactinoptera prolixa (Diptera: Tephritidae). The genera has undergone a recent revision from Tephritis. Your critter is endemic to Western Australia, but rarely sighted as far west as the Perth metropolitan area. The natural range of P. prolixa flies appears to be the Great Southern region north of Albany, Bremer Bay and Esperance. Very little is known about the behaviour and biology of P. prolixa. While they are fruit flies, they have not appeared to be of economic significance. If you succeed in catching the elusive P. prolixa, kindly either send or walk-in a sample. Please send a sample labelled with the sample ID: 061223RQJ addressed to Att: MyPestGuide Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development 3 Baron-Hay Court South Perth WA 6151. For instructions on how to collect and package the specimen, visit our website www.agric.wa.gov.au/samples#send Kind regards, The MyPestGuide Team" New iNaturalist post: inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/193781272
