| 説明 | The Chain Home station at Hillhead opened as an intermediate station in 1941 before being adoped as a final type in 1942. It remained operational throughout the Second World War, closing in 1946. The site appears to be a rare example of an almost complete (minus masts) Chain Home station, and after exploring the main operational site was amazed to discover many of the fixtures and fittings still in situ, having survived the scurge of the salvager. |
