| 説明 | Built in 1888, this Jacobethan Revival-style house was designed by Widmann and Walsh for Gustave William Nieman, president of the Title Guaranty Trust Company. In the 1910s, the house was sold to P. W. Kamp, an artillery officer in the US Army during World War I, and during the mid-20th Century, was owned and utilized by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis as offices. The building presently houses the McCloskey Law Firm, which restored the historic features of the mansion. The building features a red brick exterior with red sandstone trim, a rough-hewn limestone base, one-over-one double-hung windows, an octagonal tower with a bell-shaped roof and copper finial over the front entrance, a decorative front gable parapet with a half-shell trim motif and oxeye window, a broken pediment and architrave with triglyphs over the front entrance, decorative columns and a decorative balustrade at the front porch, and a two-story bay window on the eastern facade. The building remains in use as an office building. |
