| 説明 | Built in 1900, this Beaux Arts-style building was designed by Arthur Dillon of Friedlander and Dillon to serve as the home of the exclusive St. Louis Club, which remained in the building until 1925. Following a fire in 1925, the building became the home of regional offices for the F. W. Woolworth Company. In 1992, the building was purchased by Saint Louis University, which renamed the building Doris O'Donnell Hall, and converted it into the Saint Louis University Museum of Art in 1998. The building is clad in Limestone and red brick, with a rusticated stone base, stone trim, a slate hipped roof, decorative corbels and cartouches, quoins, ionic columns, wrought iron balcony railings, decorative gable parapets, and casement windows. The building is a contributing structure in the Midtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. |
