| 説明 | Built in 1926, this Classical Revival-style building was designed by Albert B. Groves and Eames and Young, and was constructed to serve as a new Masonic Temple for the city of St. Louis. The building is clad in limestone with a white granite base, copper medallions on the exterior that have oxidized, leading to green streaks on the facade, a parapet at the lowest tier of the building with a roman lattice motif, fluted ionic columns and doric pilasters, a portico at the top of the building with a gabled roof and decorated pediment, a portico at the front entrance along Lindell Boulevard with entrance doors featuring decorative surrounds, small window openings, and decorative cornices and reliefs on the exterior of the building. The building is a contributing structure in the Midtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, and remains in use as a Masonic Temple. |
