| 説明 | This unassuming building on the Cooling Marshes in Kent is one of only 3 Multiple Unit Steerable Antenna (MUSA) stations constructed, the other two being in the USA. The station utilised an electrical phase shifting array to steer the directional short-wave antenna. Post-war the site continued to operate, being updgraded in 1959 with a Multiple Direction Universally Steerable Aerial System (MEDUSA). This system is deemed the most technological of the short-wave radio systems, only superseeded by the advent of satellite communications. The site closed in 1965 with the removal of the antenna arrays and due to subsidence of the main building, all but the ground floor and generator house were demolished. |
