| 説明 | There are hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong expats living in the Toronto area, and no doubt enough of us collect model buses (it's a British/ Hong Kong/ Irish hobby). Having said that, there is only a few retail shops that sell miniatures of buses in Toronto. Most of us buy on-line from shops in Hong Kong, or from other e-shops or collectors around the world.Surprise! In a downtown Toronto toy/ miniature shops far from the Hong Kong expat neighbourhoods, I very unexpectedly discovered this Gilbow/ Drumwell 1:24 miniature of London Transport's Daimler Fleetline DMS model. I thought about it for a few months (it's an expensive model) but after careful consideration and encouragement from a Wisconsin fellow bus enthusiast, I decided to get it as the chance of me ever finding it again in Toronto is nil!This model is very rare... some on-line information suggests 600 were made. It is very heavy and has stunning details, as well as moveable parts including:1. opening front folding entrance doors2. opening mid-section folding exit doors3. steerable front wheels and steering wheels4. opening upper-deck rear emergency exit5. opening rear engine cover6. spinnable wheels7. front, side and rear destination blinds that can be rolled offering three different route informationGilbow Holdings/ Drumwell 99101, a 1:24 scale model of the Daimler Fleetline DMS, in London Transport livery, fleet no.
