| 説明 | Something a little different from me - a mainly b&w image drop.I went to Bunjil, in the You Yangs (Wurdi Youang), with the direct purpose of looking at the body of it. Using a 35mm lens (predominantly), I took close-ups of white minerals in the rock to look like scars, or cellulite; abstracts of the wings to look like bones; cracks to look like blood vessels; a withered, uprooted bush with many flowing tributaries to symbolise Bunjil's heart.Despite this geoglyph being built by a white man for a very white celebration (the Commonwealth games in 2006), this feels like sacred land to me and I wanted to pay my respects to the land and to the creator, Bunjil. This land of the Wathaurong was never ceded. |
