| 説明 | A medium sized robberfly, almost certainly the Common Red-legged Robberfly, Dioctria rufipes, a species that has reddish front legs and largely black hind legs (check!) and long (for a fly) upright antennae (check!). It was a good day for robberflies, but the other I photographed I have yet to identify. That other much bigger one snatched one of the butterflies I was counting mid-air and preceded to eat it. It's unfortunate prey still made my count for the day! Dioctria rufipes usually goes after smaller prey, but I've yet to see it do anything other than sit and watch.
