| 説明 | Built in 1900, this Classical Revival-style building was designed by McKim, Mead and White for the State Savings Bank of Detroit, and was later expanded in 1914 under the direction of Donaldson and Meier. The building is clad in marble with large two-story arched bays with three two-over-two windows on each floor and metal trim, a cornice with modillions, rusticated stone at the corners, doric pilasters, a recessed front portico with two ionic columns, and a cartouche flanked by two sculptures on the parapet above the front entrance. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and is a contributing structure in the Detroit Financial District Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, and today serves as an event center. |
