| 説明 | Built in 1924-1925, this Art Deco-style building was designed by Albert Kahn and Associates to house the Detroit Free Press. The building features a limestone exterior, extruded pilasters with recessed windows and spandrels, a central tall tower that slices through the middle of the building with a gabled parapet and barrel vaulted entrance bay on the ground floor, decorative relief panels, storefronts at ground level, two light wells flanking the base of the tower, and buff brick cladding on the rear facade. The building is a contributing structure in the Detroit Financial District Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, and today has been rehabilitated for adaptive reuse as an apartment building. |
