| 説明 | NEWPORT, RI – President of the Naval War College (NWC) Rear Admiral Pete Garvin speaks at the twelfth annual Center on Irregular Warfare and Armed Groups (CIWAG) Maritime Symposium June 27, 2023. The symposium, co-sponsored by the Naval War College Foundation, brought together more than 130 industry and department of defense experts to discuss this year’s theme “Exploring our Maritime Strategies” during the two-day event. CIWAG is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the challenges presented by irregular warfare (IW) and non-state actors, also known as armed groups, in the 21st Century. Additionally, CIWAG facilitates interaction and collaboration between professional military educational institutions, civilian academics, and battlefield practitioners. Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage.
