| 説明 | Don Bosco is a landmark in Goma. Although is on the far edge of town it is central in the minds of the inhabitants.It is a centre for about 2000 children, mainly boys, run by the Salesian order. The director of the centre for the last ten years is Father Mario, a small wiry Italian in t-shirt shorts and moccasins more in the mould of a worker priest than a cassock clad dignitary.The centre is a small town; it has an orphanage, schools, a church, cook house, football pitches, vocational training workshops and housing for vulnerable families.The centre takes vulnerable kids either as day students or as interns.The vocational training takes three years. Graduates are called finalistes. Training courses include; masonry, carpentry, metal work & animal husbandry. UNICEF supports Don Bosco by providing tool kits for graduates. |
