| 説明 | Built in 1929-1930, this Art Deco-style skyscraper was designed by Holabird and Root, and stands 41 stories and 512 feet (156 meters) tall. The building is clad in limestone with decorative carved motifs, contrasting spandrel panels at the central bays on the upper floors, a podium that takes up the whole site with second-story windows featuring arched centers, as well as octagon-shaped windows, first floor storefronts, and simple windows on the third floor, with an H-shaped footprint in the middle section, and a tower that rises from the H-shaped portion of the building in the middle of the structure, featuring multiple setbacks towards the top, where the building is topped with a rectangular crown two stories high, with a lantern and spire atop the crown. The building is a contributing structure in the West Loop–LaSalle Street Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013, and today houses multiple office tenants, with retail space in the base. |
