| 説明 | Built in 2017, this Contemporary 54-story skyscraper was designed by Goettsch Partners, and sits on a small piece of land along the Chicago River that was formerly home to open-air train tracks, now concealed within a podium below street level. As a result of the constraints on the site, the building’s base is thin, with the glass tower tapering down into a thin base that is clad in granite with arched openings. The upper portion of the tower as it approaches its roof 752 feet (229 meters) above the ground, by contrast, is rather typical of contemporary skyscrapers with glass curtain walls, featuring some setback elements towards the top, but otherwise being a rectilinear box. The podium at the base, which conceals the train line, which houses parking and service areas for the building, with a rooftop garden, and a walkway along the Chicago River. The building is an atypical example of contemporary architecture, but is typical of the aesthetics and general quality of high-rise urban development in the urban core of Chicago during the early 21st Century. |
