| 説明 | Built in 1877, this Queen Anne-style townhouse was designed by Asa Lyon for Luther McConnell, whom worked for Marshall Field, and lived in the house until his death in 1907. The house was then purchased by John T. Manierre, and later was subdivided into apartments. It was later restored as a single-family home in the late 20th Century. The house is clad in red brick with a front gable roof, corner two-story bay window, a two-story bay window on the side facade, decorative stone trim, including headers, sills, and carved relief panels, decorative iron cresting atop the peak of the roof, a rusticated stone base, brick corbeling, casement windows, and a front porch with ionic columns, iron railings, and a stone gable parapet. The house is a contributing structure in the Gold Coast Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. |
