| 説明 | Built in 1886, this ornate Queen Anne, Gothic Revival, and Chateauesque-style townhouse was designed by Harald M. Hansen for George A. Weiss, a beer baron. The house is clad in red brick and rusticated limestone, with decorative carved trim and reliefs, stepped gable parapets, a corner tower at the chamfered corner of the third floor with a tall steep-pitch hipped roof, copper cresting, and a large copper finial, a two-story bay window with curved corners below a gable on the third floor, gothic arched windows, one-over-one double-hung windows and leaded glass diamond pane casement windows, a front porch with stone and carved wooden columns, iron railings, a shed roof, and a front gable with copper cresting, and arched windows at the exterior of the basement. The house is a contributing structure in the Gold Coast Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. |
