説明 | Looking north towards Pt de los Chiños (hill) and the Santa Lucias. More interesting geology: the red bedded older gravels, which are pretty strongly indurated, are well exposed here (but hard to reach!) and at "Little Hawaii" beach, a half-mile south. It's a named formation, which I don't remember, and wouldn't mean anything to you anyway. But SLO County geology fans should buy David Chipping's county geological ebook guides, available from the county Native Plants society. Labor of Love by him!Traditional south end of Big Sur is where the Santa Lucia range drops into the ocean (skyline). CA-1 is closed there, likely for many months, from heavy winter storm damage. |
