| 説明 | In the small white villa of Mijas, Pueblo, we had the opportunity to see the Palm Sunday processional of the tronos of the major Catholic church in the city. The tronos depicted the entrance of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. A tronos generally weights over a ton (2,000 pounds) and is carried on the shoulders of penitents. In Mijas, this smaller tronos was carried by young men. Celebrants preceded the tronos and a band followed, playing somber music. Here is a photo from the 2023 procession. |
