| 説明 | There are four sculptures, one at each corner of the intersection of Trade Street and South Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. They are the “Sculptures on the Square”, which mark the trading post where Charlotte’s first buildings were erected in the mid-1700s. This crossing of two Native American trading paths became the center of Uptown Charlotte. In this sculpture, "Transportation" by Raymond Kaskey, a railroad worker symbolizes the importance of transportation in the history of Charlotte.Behind the sculpture is 'Il Grande Disco' by Arnaldo Pomodoro. The large bronze wheel was created specifically for the Bank of America Plaza and was installed on October 2, 1974. |
