| 説明 | Built circa 1890, this Tudor Revival-style house was designed by architect William S. Wicks, partner of E. B. Green of Green & Wicks, to serve as his family residence, and was where Wicks resided until his death in 1919. The house features a rusticated brownstone base with two Chicago-style windows flanking a large front entrance bay with decorative glass sidelights, a front porch with heavy timber columns and brackets and a hipped roof, eight-over-one windows on the second floor, which is clad in orange roman brick with half-timbering, and a hipped roof with multiple slate shingle-clad gabled dormers with casement windows and steeply pitched roofs. The interior of the house features multiple decorative fireplaces and mantels, a signature piece of many designs by William S. Wicks, as well as a wine cellar, open stairway, and third floor ballroom. The house is a contributing structure in the Parkside East Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. |
