| 説明 | Built in 1880 as a mansion and renovated into an apartment building circa 1900, this Colonial Revival-style building was originally designed by H. Osgood Holland for Norris Morey, a prominent lawyer whom served as the assistant district attorney and assistant city attorney in the 1870s. The building was sold to George C. Beals in the 1890s and again to Willis K. Morgan, treasurer of the D. E. Morgan & Son Furniture Company, whom carried out renovations on the house. The building originally featured a semi-circular front portico, which was later removed. The house features a low-slope roof enclosed with a parapet, a cornice with modillions and dentils, a red flemish bond brick exterior, stone belt coursing and decorative stone headers, a front entrance with sidelights and a decorative fanlight transom, an uncovered semi-circular concrete front porch with a wrought iron balcony, wrought iron balcony over the front door, and a concrete base. The building has become overgrown with vines in the last few years, obscuring the facade during the warmer months. |
