| 説明 | Beautiful stone carving detail on a column in the Aurangabad caves - this intricate detail probably depict the Hindu gods Shiva and Parvati- if you recall, you saw them in a much large scale- almost statue size- at the Ellora caves. (see previous pictures earlier in this album). Although the Aurangabad Caves are mostly eclipsed by their more glamourous UNESCO-listed Ajanta and Ellora Caves, they are remarkable in their own right, and in my own humble opinion, the carvings and sculptures here at the Aurangabad caves are more intricate and detailed than those at Ajanta and Ellora. .More notes about the Aurangabad caves appear elsewhere in this album.
