| 説明 | Living facilities at Biosphere 2, near Tucson, Arizona. Biosphere 2 was opened in 1991 to a crew of 8, who spent two years in the completely enclosed environment, and tested our ability to create closed ecosystems that could sustain humans. It was meant to recreate what would be possible on a space colony. They grew there own food, made there own oxygen and water, and had a food system 5x more productive than equivalent open space. On the other hand, they broke into two factions that disliked one another, and the closed systems took an enormous amount of external energy to keep them going, as there was no solar energy used. Today it serves as an experimental facility for the University of Arizona. |
