| 説明 | The market is composed of a rectangular peristyle court, terminating in an apse at the S end. There was a square basin in the centre of the open space. The market had entrances on the N and E sides; the doorway on the N was flanked by two statues: on the right stood Sertius, and on the left his wife Cornelia Valentina Tucciana Sertia. Not averse to self-promotion, the sponsor placed two further statues of himself and his wife inside the building, and in order that his largesse should not be in any doubt, the letters of his name, S–E–R–T–I–U–S, were carved on the individual springer-blocks of the surrounding arcades, which have been partly re-erected.Blas de Roblès, Jean-Marie; Sintes, Claude; Kenrick, Philip.
