| 説明 | The mad doctors at Pataphysical Studios are plotting their next art event: "Bunker Down”, a surreal happening on Saturday, Sep. 3, 2-5pm, at Battery Chester, a historic military fortification in San Francisco’s Lands End. The event will pay tribute to French poet Alfred Jarry, the founder of ‘Pataphysics — who inspired the Dada and Surrealist movements, as well as absurdist literature and postmodern philosophy.Kudos to the intrepid Dr. Really for organizing this impromptu art event, which will give us a chance to play and reconnect with each other in a supremely pataphysical setting! For your viewing pleasure, here are photos and a video of our walk-through this incredible space — which is now filled with gorgeous graffiti art, and soon to be adorned with original paintings and interactive art exhibits created by Pataphysical Studio artists Janey Fritsche and Marshall Smith. At 4pm on Saturday, Priscilla Ann Wheeler ("Queen of the Desert") and yours truly, Fabrice Florin ("Dr. Fabio") will read short quotes from Jarry's grotesque character Père Ubu — who has been compared to arch-villain Donald J. Trump because of his exceptional cruelty, cowardice, greed, ignorance, vulgarity and sociopathic behavior. Our presentation will contrast Ubu's mad quest for power with Trump’s descent into darkness, in a call-and-response performance in both French and English. All are welcome to boo, chant and cheer along with us.Also check out some of our photos of this secret expedition. Rest assured that we had Ubu Trump de-classify them all for your viewing pleasure.
