| 説明 | Built in 1902, this two-story Richardsonian Romanesque-style building was deigned by Lee Wai for Joseph W. Podmore. The building features a rusticated stone exterior, large rusticated lintels and sills framing one-over-one double-hung windows, a metal awning, parapet featuring a balustrade and pointed caps at midpoints and corners, and arched doorways at the ends of the first floor. The building has housed a variety of tenants over its long existence, including the Mercantile Printing Company, the Bon-Bon Cafe, the Board of Missions (which owned and occupied the building between 1907 and 1916), the Honolulu Advertiser, and the DHL Air Cargo Honolulu Office. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. |
