| 説明 | Hemerocallis 'Jack and the Beanstalk' 7/2022 Daylily U1- (Gossard, 2002) Tall yellow Daylily , Mature plant size: 65in., 8-9in. Golden yellow, USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Week ISO WW29, In Garden Bed U1 for 35 MONTHS (Solaris). Planted in 2019.Heavenly Gardens: (Gossard, James) 2002 introduction (Warrell Seedling x Big Bird) x (Tetra Spindazzle) Tet 8" Dor 65" M.Amply named as it towers over all the daylilies in the garden. It reminds me of the famous tale of Jack and the Beanstalk where the giant is descending on pursuit of Jack. The beanstalk is swaying in the wind as Jack starts his chopping process. Scapes will lean when wet or heavy with pods. Important parent for those hybridizing for giant tall flowers. It is the tallest daylily I grow. Not recommended for the South. The flower is 8-9" Golden yellow with 12-15 bud count and 2-3 way branching. Scape height varies from 62-70 inches. Dormant and fertile both ways. UF Cascade.Photo by F.D.Richards, SE Michigan.
